2026 Summit PAL Annual Golf Outing

ABOUT THE SUMMIT PAL ANNUAL GOLF OUTING

The Annual Golf Classic is one of the Summit PAL's primary fundraising engines, raising money through entry fees and sponsorships. Your participation directly funds vital community programs, including:

• Annual College Scholarships for deserving Summit High School seniors
• The D.A.R.E. Program
• The Memorial Day Parade
• National Night Out
• The Miracle on Elm Street Tree Lighting
• Easter Egg Hunt
• Fishing Derby

Watchung Valley Golf Club is located at 600 Mountain Blvd in Watchung. Registration starts at 10:00am, brunch will be available at 11am, followed by a shotgun start for our event (scramble format) at 12:30pm. Please make sure to stay for the cocktail reception starting at 5:30pm. Dinner, awards and the auction will begin promptly at 6:30pm.

The Summit Police Athletic League is a non-profit charitable organization that initiates and sponsors numerous programs for the youth of Summit. It is run by an all-volunteer board comprised of Summit residents and Summit Police Department officers. In simplest terms, our overriding mission is to work as a positive conduit between the children and Police Department of Summit, in the belief that this linkage is critical to the ecosystem of the community.

In addition to sponsoring these events like our Annual Golf Outing, the Summit PAL sponsors the community’s nationally recognized D.A.R.E. program and annually awards scholarships to graduating Summit High School seniors based on academic record, extra-curricular activities, leadership, civic involvement and financial need.

PAL CITIZEN OF THE YEAR AWARD

This year, the Summit PAL is proud to present the PAL Citizen of the Year Award to Chuck Salzman.

Chuck has worked at Peerless Beverage Company since 1998 and served as President since 2015. Under his leadership, Peerless has been a dedicated corporate partner of the Community FoodBank of New Jersey (CFBNJ)—the state's largest anti-hunger organization—for over three decades. He also actively serves on CFBNJ’s Board of Directors. Chuck has deep ties to the Summit area, having grown up in Westfield, NJ. He and his wife raised their three children and have been actively involved in the local Summit community for a couple of decades.
